And still no clue when I'm going to be able to see my doctor. It makes me sick that Medicaid is taking so stinking long. Seriously, it's been 5 1/2 weeks since I applied.. I just called the worker who has my case AGAIN and hopefully this time, I'll hear something.

I'm 10 weeks today as well and haven't seen anyone yet. They usually don't at least in my experience until 8-10 weeks anyways. I'm probably going to start seeing someone after thanksgiving.

Yes call your office and let them know you'll be getting Medicaid soon and I'm sure they will see you. Medicaid goes 3 months retroactive so any bills you get within the past 3 omths they will pay anyway.

I'm 10 weeks today too! That's crappy that your Medicaid hasn't gone through yet. I agree with Gen88 though. I hope you can get in ASAP!

You should be able to get in and have Medicaid pay for it when they approve you. They suck, don't they? Everything that has to do with government assistance takes forever.

Don't be afraid to be a PITA and call every day until they get it through. Here in Michigan I was told they HAD to either get me approved or denied within 10 business days, but I'm sure the rule varies state to state. And if you go ahead and contact your doc's office you can at least get the appt. set up. GL!

Sorry Stinks when you are on someone elses time frame. I would call the dr to see if they can help or at very last maybe you could pay OOP for the first visit and break it up into payments just so you can be seen.

I'm still waiting for medicaid too, but luckily, I have insurance through DH's work too, just a HUGE deductible and out of pocket. With my last pregnancy, I was able to get temporary medicaid through a Baby your Baby program until my medicaid application went through. My DH lost his job 3 days after I found out I was pregnant and I fought with them for 3 months to get approved.

Look into Baby your Baby! They will pay for the first appt I think, until your Medicaid gets up and going. I also agree that Medicaid is retroactive up to 90 days so you should be able to go in and they can bill you when it gets approved.

It's different in every state. Here in WA it's only retroactive to the first day of the month in which you were approved, but they have to process your application within 15 working days. I've never heard of Baby your Baby, but it sounds like a great program! And yes, your doctor probably would agree to backdate your bills so you can get in sooner than later.

Here, Medicaid has 45 (yes 45!!!!) days to process your application. Which IMO is RIDICULOUS! I googled Baby your Baby and it came up as some program in Utah.. I got a letter from Medicaid asking for my paystubs and so i mailed them and my proof of pregnancy at the same time (to save ME time) and they're taking issue with me not having a pay stub for Oct 30. I called twice already to explain that I quit working on Oct 16 so my last paycheck was Oct 23. Although if I go online to get my paystubs, i believe there are blank ones from Oct 30 til now. Tempting to go print a blank one so they are satisfied that I didn't work and including a note about why it's blank.
