Is anyone else RH Negative? Last night I had some VERY slight spotting (brown), so, this morning I'm going to go to the doctor to get the Rhogam shot. Just wondering if I have I have to get one every time I have spotting (hoping not to have anymore!), or will this cover me up until I get one midway through?

I had spotting over the weekend and had to get one, that sucker hurts! I just had one in August after my D&C so I guess maybe you do have to have it if you bleed. But let me know what your doctor says about that.

good luck, hope it doesn't hurt!

I didnt get it with our 3rd child, since my husband is rh-. The naval hospital said I "had" to in case I cheated on my husband with my husband standing right there. Talk about rude and embarrassing. I would never cheat on my husband and the mention of that just ticked me off.

Wow. Just wow. How insensitive!

So, update, they drew blood to check for antibodies, and gave me the Rhogam shot. I asked about future spotting and if I would have to have the shot again, and they said no, just this once. If I spot again, I'm covered. Will still get the shot at 28 weeks and after delivery depending on the baby's RH Factor. So, we're good. Hopefully no new antibodies. :/

I am RH - ( A- blood) and DH is O+. I had a shot after both my m/c and at 28 weeks with DS and after he was born because he turned out to be A+.
