Appt is 1:30 central today. No ultrasound today though. They are doing pelvic exam following up on my abnormal pap smear. Wish me luck and hope it's nothing serious. Can't get any bad news on my birthday.
Appt went great. Heard baby's heartbeat and sounded great...still very fast. Pap smear was abnormal so they did a coloposcopy (spelling) and saw most was changes in pregnancy except one area so she did a biopsy just be safe as she couldn't see it that well because it was in the upper high corner on the outside of my cervix.
Sooo.. just a question. If that biopsy comes back abnormal, will you just have to follow up post-pregnancy? Is there anything they can do while you are pregnant? Sorry, just haven't been in that situation before!

No, they won't do anything during pregnancy. I had a colposcopy for the same reason with DD, and they did see lesions but wouldn't even do a biopsy because I was pregnant. I was supposed to follow up after the birth but I suck at taking care of myself and never did. I got lucky and found out after my pap with this pregnancy that everything is fine. Glad they did the biopsy now so you can just know and get it over with! I'm sure everything is fine. Pregnancy does all kinds of crazy stuff to your cervix, lol.

Well they did the biopsy only because it was on the outside of my cervix. Normally they won't do it (or my Dr won't) because it can pose a risk of miscarriage but that's only if it's on the inside.of the cervix which they will wait until after delivery to do. I will have to.wait about a couple weeks for results. If it comes back abnormal they'll do more after delivery but with me still in delivery room.
