I had my third appointment today - although it was the first appointment that I actually met my midwife. She seems very straight-forward and no-nonsense. Kind, but definitely the type who will keep a level head when I'm freaking out during labour.
(this is the TMI paragraph, so feel free to skip it) Had to have a pap-smear today, since I haven't had one in years and that was just loads of fun. Apparently my cervix was angled the wrong way, so she really had to dig around to get what she needed. Ouch. Feeling crampy and bleeding a little now. Blegh. And apparently I have a yeast infection AND a UTI, which is weird since I don't have any symptoms of either. So blegh for that too.
We went over my ultrasound a few weeks ago and my blood work from last time. Interestingly, I have a natural immunity to chickenpox. Who knew? The ultrasound was for dating purposes since I have irregular periods, but I was just about where I thought I was. Only off by two days. She bumped up my due date to June 3rd. I hope I make it to June - I'm not sure why but I just don't want a May baby, I really want a June baby!
We got to listen to the baby's heartbeat today, so that was exciting, since they couldn't find it last time. It came up clear and strong as soon as she put the thingy on my belly. She said the heartbeat was around 148 and sounded perfect. Yay.
All in all, a pretty good visit. I was happy to hear the heartbeat mostly.
I am hoping to make it to June too! I am due the 9th, but I always go early. I don't want a May baby either.. maybe its because my b-day is May 27th and I just want this little one to have their own "special time". (Wow, I sound like my mom.. lol)
Here is a random tidbit you probably didn't need to know , but I had an yeast infection and UTI last pregnancy and had no symptoms.. It was strange!
JaxonJocelyn Gabriel Grayson and due in September!
