I have been "lurking" and would love to join you ladies. I am currently 13 weeks and 3 days with my third child (and it has been quite some time since my first two). Due to my age (39), we have been very cautious. Cringe at being called high risk After having 2 ultrasounds and just receiving the results of my Harmony Test, we are feeling much more confident that this will be a low risk uneventful (although fraught with morning sickness and Group B) pregnancy.
Reading the posts of others have helped keep me sane. Hopefully, I can be of support to others - now that I know pg in the late 20s and late 30s.
Welcome and congrats! It's possible to be positive for group b now and not closer to delivery!
Thanks. The good news they gave me a course of antibiotics and will prophalactically treat me at birth with IV antibiotics, so it should be fine. It was just lovely though to hear all the docs say, oh AMA (advanced maternal age) and recite the risks. My advice to other AMA mamas - find the positive doctor in your practice. I found one that is convinced that age is but one "minor" factor - and is very positive in his bedside manner.
