And I am really scared. It's been a week and a half since I've seen this little baby on an u/s. I've been having brown and reddish spotting every day for the last three weeks and cramping to go along with it. I am terrified that there will be no heartbeat tomorrow, worst case scenario. Or if there is, I'm worried that my SCH has grown even more. It was classified as large at my last follow-up, which was what got me sent for a level II. I feel like I've been in limbo for the last 3 weeks, not knowing what is going to happen with this pregnancy.

Many prayers for a healthy pregnancy. If it helps - I was there with my second child (who is a healthy 8 year old boy today). I bled from 5-19 weeks. The doctor never knew why. At my 8 week appointment, they would not give me a "welcome bag" until I had a scan as it was "not looking like a successful pregnancy." We then saw a heartbeat. Even then, the docs were more than cautious. Well today - my boy is a perfect vibrant (into everything) boy.
One thing if it helps - I bled again at 26 weeks and had pre-term that was handled with a short hospital stay and meds. (I made it to almost 38 weeks). The doc did mention that if I had taken the quad screen, it likely would have been abnormal. Evidently, bleeding and the like can cause the quad screen to be abnormal. That was almost 9 years ago - so perhaps the tests are different today. However, if you do the quad and it comes back abnormal, your baby may be completely healthy and the "abnormality" is related to the early bleeding.
I know every pg is different, but I truly hope you have the luck I did with an absolutely healthy child.

I also had lots of bleeding with M, from about 8-16 weeks, near-constant spotting with several massive bleeds. They could never even see the SCH until I had a level II u/s at 14.5 weeks and then they saw the remains of it (it was huge) just sitting on my cervix, I had brown spotting until it was gone. My placenta and the baby were just fine! So I *know* how nervous you feel, I was basically almost hopeless because my OB had confessed he'd only seen one other patient bleed that much and have a healthy baby in the end, but I was lucky, and I hope you will be lucky too!!!! *hugs*

I'm glad that some of the ladies in the DDC have gone through something similar and can offer you some reassuring words. Hope your ultrasound goes great tomorrow.

Thank you ladies! The appointment went well. Baby is growing on target, heart rate is good, and placenta looks good. There is no new bleeding, so it has turned into a clot. I think it's the same size and away from the placenta. Unfortunately, it is sitting right on top of my cervix. The u/s tech said to expect spotting for quite awhile based on the size and location. As far as I know, restrictions are the same (no exercise, pelvic rest, and no lifting over 10 lbs). The MFM specialist was encouraging. I said that I have cramping most days and he said " Well, we're going to focus on the positives.". I'm not sure what that means. I'll try to clarify with my midwife next week. Overall though I am relieved that everything else is looking good. He tried for several minutes to try to find out the sex but baby's legs were closed tight. Oh well! We got some good u/s shots on a disc and printed.
