What the heck? I stopped having AF feeling crams finally about 2 weeks ago and have had very few cramps since then. Starting last night and all day today I've had a lot of pain in what I call my baby area. Y'know, the pelvic area. It doesn't feel like AF cramps, but they are sharp and at times about a 6 or 7 out of 10. I've had plenty of water to drink today. It feels almost like pinching or something. I guess it just worries me since I haven't had any pain for a while and because I just told my family I'm pregnant yesterday. I know it's silly, but I feel like I jinxed myself. haha. Anyone else having all these pains?
Its called Round Ligament Pain Elise....your at the stage where its very common. They will come and go. Dont overwork yourself or they will get worse...and RLP can feel worse sometimes for us plus sized ladies its caused by your stomach muscles streching and working in ways they arent used too. Your fine hun!
I also recommend you get a copy of the Pregnancy Bible...a must read for FTMs.
I have severe lower right sided pain but doc say mine is due to a cluster of fibroids along with RLP. The pain is on the same level as medium contractions so deep breathing is about the only thing that help.
I'm exactly as far along as you and have been having the exact same. Baby is starting a huge growth spurt this week so I think the major stretching has begun! Mine are sharp sometimes but also feel like AF cramps.
I had an appointment today and she mentioned RLP of course. I figured that's all it was, but as a first timer, I'm pretty freaked out about everything. Baby's heartbeat was a strong 155, though, so looks like things are fine! Thanks for the input ladies!
I agree with the other ladies-sounds like stretching pains. I worry a lot too though even though this is my fourth & I should be familiar with all the symptoms, I'm extremely nervous that my luck is running out & something will be wrong with this one.
Every time I get them I take it as a sign to slow down and to rest. My uterus also grows more to the right so during growing pains I will feel a painful tugging at the top inside of my left leg where all the ligaments connect. It's a horrible pain that I remember only too well from my last pregnancy. But it's normal
'Scuse the bad typing, please. 'Breast is Best' but not when browsing the internet!
Its a real pain (literally!) I hope you felt less concerned once you spoke to your caregiver. It can be really really painful sometimes, especially if you move the wrong way too quickly or stand up/sit down etc. So far with this pregnancy it hasn't been nearly as bad as my first. Wondering if DD stretched it out when she was in there haha
