Has anyone taken the Harmony test and been told gender? I took the Harmony the morning of the 6th and got my result the late afternoon of the 17th. I was so worried. When I finally heard good news (at age 39 my chances of trisomy are 1/10,000), I was so relieved and elated that I forgot to inquire about gender. I have my regular appointment today (not my perinatogist) and wondered if he looked at the report if it may show gender. I am so grateful that we were blessed with a good test result that I almost feel wrong to even inquire more.
The Harmony test is a newer blood test that can separate fetal cells. They actually test the baby's cells in my blood for trisomys. It is reported at 99.5% accuracy. It is supposed to replace the need fora CVS or amnio and there are no risks to the baby as it is only a blood test. While they can tell gender, they only report if you have a risk related to gender.
I did it a couple weeks ago too. Got the results yesterday and no gender with it (was told I was very low low risk - yay!). I looked online and saw that this brand of test generally doesn't test for gender (which seems silly, but whatever!)
I did the MaterniT21 test which works the same way, I thought they would tell me the sex determination though. My OB left me a VM with the results (normal!!) Last night, but she didn't say the sex! I did email to ask though. Hoping she will get back to me sometime today. We really wanted to do an xmas day reveal to DH's family and know the sex too.
