has anyone heard this, while pregnant drinking to much soda pop can cause diabetes. My SO said he heard this somewhere but I havn't heard or read it anywhere.

When I was pregnant with my twins I had gestational diabetes and the only time my blood sugar would really get too high was after soda.

I know I need to cut back although i have cut back alot. I guess what i was really meant to ask is can it cause the baby to get diabetes?

I think you would have to drink a LOT to cause problems like that.

You would have to drink a huge huge amount for the baby to get diabetes from soda. If you are drinking it in moderation the baby will be fine. I drank soda in all three of my pregnancies my 5 1/2 year old is barely over 40lbs no sign of diabetes, my other two are the same.

No. Not true. Diabetes is genetic meaning both you and your dh have to carry the gene, then both of you have to pass it on. I have type 1 diabetes and I've heard it all. Nothing you do can cause diabetes.
