So I posted a few days ago that I was worried about the baby growing and my body wasn't changing, etc. Well the last two days or so, I've really noticed a change and it's been confirmed by some people at work (even one that didn't know I was pregnant commented that I looked different, that I looked like I lost weight), and my SO. My belly button is starting to move outwards and my abdomen is getting firmer where it was once soft and squishy. I assume this is all from the baby pushing stuff up and out. Not only that, but we found the heartbeat today without having to push very hard and the area where we find it was definitely firmer vs the soft 'n squishy that it was before. I've also felt baby (I think) some more and have become increasingly more uncomfortable in certain positions. The RLP has also returned with a vengeance. So, needless to say, things are very obviously progressing now. I knew the minute I mentioned something, the baby would prove me wrong! Haha. You ladies were right as always!

On a separate note: I'm buying the first baby related item tomorrow. Diapers! Haha. I want to start stocking up now. Any suggestions on brands?

Are you going to be buying disposables? If so, I liked Pampers and I never had any problems with Luvs and they are less expensive.

Yeah. I thought about cloth, but I'm just not that dedicated. Haha. Thanks for the input! I've heard good things about Pampers, but my mom said she didn't like Luvs for my niece and nephew. All kids are different though, so I might buy some anyway.

Before i switched to cloth I used pampers until they went to dry max, google dry max issues and choose for yourself. After the newborn stage we loved Costco diapers!

I agree that the drymax pampers suck...But they changed the Pampers cruisers to be just like the swaddlers now. My DD has sensitive skin and Luvs always caused her to have rashes and irritated her skin.

It really is about trial and error kind of! I had to try out store brands and stuff because of cost but my kiddos always had really resilient skin and rarely got rashes or anything.

i use target brand diapers :-) i've tried other store brands but these seem to work the best for us. as for name brand sometimes we'll get luvs if they are on sale. we live off of one income so we try to save wherever we can!

I've heard other good things about target brand diapers (up&up i think they're called). I think they sound great and they get good reviews. I really don't want to pay huggies prices and luvs aren't an option since I've seen really mixed reviews, plus my mom hates them and she'll be watching the baby a lot. I think we'll pick up some target diapers tomorrow. We'll probably buy a few different types over the next few months, but I need to get started for sure!

Get a small pack of each of the major brands. It really is all about trial and error. We're mostly in cloth over here but when we do use 'sposies, we only like pampers. None of the other brands fit right.

I think it depends on if you have a boy or girl and if your baby is really sensitive...I personally could only use pampers with DD, I tried others but they didn't fit well and most gave her rashes except up&up. But if you do not have a sensitive baby I heard up&up are great and many of my friends with boys like huggies. I know pull ups are down the line but huggies brand pull ups are MUCH better than pampers for us. As far as wipes pampers sensitive were my fav, I tried off brands like up & up but I found myself needing to use more so it was not worth the savings. Good luck!

This.

See now....I liked the huggies wipes better than others, they were bigger and thicker than other brands.

I am going to try making my own wipes this round with Viva paper towels.

I hated huggies wipes and only use pampers
Pampers for diapers as well
We did the swaddlers for the first few months and moved to the baby dry which we still use to this day
we tried the cruisers but found that they seemed to lack absorbency towards the back
but you have to use what works best for the baby
id avoid stocking up maybe just setting aside $ to use to buy diapers when you find what works best or keep the receipts to return/exchange
also i recommend to all my mommy friends to get a membership to a warehouse like costco/bjs/sams club - much cheaper to buy a lot of baby supplies

We really like the Sam's and Wal-mart brand diapers for B. We tried all the other brands and really, what works for you is going to depend on your baby. B is rather skinny, but kind of long waisted, so we had a lot of leak issues out the top with pampers and Luvs.

I recommend buying small packs of each brand. You can always exchange/return unopened packs if you end up with a lot of a brand that doesn't work for you.

I was a nanny for years and worked in two daycares. Luvs were always really hit or miss depending on the baby. Pampers almost always worked better for girls and huggies almost always worked better for boys. Same was true with my SS he was always in huggies. Target ones worked well on most babies there were only a handful that they didn't really work on.

Use whatever works for your baby. I love pampers swaddlers but the drymax sucks big time. With my daughter, I found out I really liked Walmart's parents choice brand. With my son, they leaked.

I purchased 2 packs of Pampers Swaddlers and 2 packs of Pampers sensitive wipes last night. I try to coupon and match with sales when possible, so I figured I'd start stocking up on diapers now.
