Tai Chi. Yep. I'm very overweight and my job consists mostly of me walking for 8 hours. I'm not interested in going for walks every day, especially now that it's snowy and icy here, not to mention freezing out. There isn't somewhere here that I'd feel comfortable going swimming, either. These were my top two choices until someone mentioned tai chi. I've read up on it and thanks to the slow, fluid movements and very low impact style, I should be able to do it no problem even with my weight. Not only that, it focuses on flexibility and breathing which are two things I'm sure I'll need during labor. I've been thinking a lot about it and I know that being more fit and active during pregnancy is better for labor and I sure as heck don't want to make that any more difficult.
Oh good, lots of positive input! haha. I bought a DVD because classes would not really work out due to my work schedule, but I bought the highest rated tai chi dvd for beginners. I'm super excited and I hope it really ends up helping me be better equipped for labor, even just through the breathing exercises.
