Well, it works for what it's supposed to do, but YUCK! the side effects!
DH was diagnosed with the flu this week, even though he got his flu shot (we all did) and is probably the healthiest of us all. Anyway, with me being pregnant, DS#1 having asthma, and DS#2 just being little, we are all on tamiflu. The boys don't seem to mind it, but I feel like I'm back in first trimester with the nausea. Barely managed to keep my dinner down last night. And it has this awful after-taste too. I guess I shouldn't complain if it keeps me from having the flu though. Plus, I can't decide if I'm tired because I'm pregnant and acting as a single mom (DH has been banished to the guest room until further notice) or if I'm starting to get sick. lol. So far so good though.
My DSS2 got swine flu a few years ago during the outbreak and they gave him tamiflu...it was an ouch on the pocketbook at 100 bucks for 3 pills. But it was a godsend compared to seeing him spike a fever of 109 and go into seizures from the temp spike. It helped a lot...but they also gave him Hydrocodone too cuz they said his body aches would be bad from the swine flu and tamiflu combo.
