Are there any BTDT moms on here who are having a repeat C-section or had one with other babies?

This will be my 4th. But it's my 1st time knowingly going in for a c/s as my first child was supposed to be a homebirth and my second and third were supposed to be VBAC's that didn't work out. It will be interesting to skip labor this time.

i had one with DD.. but i am not doing what i did last time.. i am hiring a doula.. and i am also going to do hypnobabies for this one.. i will be at the hospital just in case.. but i will not allow them to induce (baby should pick their birthday) i will not have any interventions I want to be able to move around.. and not be tied to anything and give this baby the chance to be born like he should.. (i am a doula. and I have learned how to deal with labor..and how to cope..)

I do HIGHLY recommend hiring a doula.. Some hospitals might even have a volunteer doula program.. the hospital where this baby will be born has it.. just ask.. and most of the time you can make payment plans with your doula..

This baby will be my second c-section. I think it is kind of nice to know the exact day I will be having the baby.

I haven't decided yet. Having a vbac requires me to go to Oahu which is more time off plus expenses of the time waiting out labor (hotel/rental, rental car, food, etc). I would have to go over about 37wks.

I'm also thinking of taking a leave of absence from work to visit family on the mainland but I can only see it working timing wise with a c/s. There's more to it but thats a simple explanation.

My DH had a dream last night that we had 4 children. He told me about it and I just kind of laughed it off. But then he came into the room after I took a nap and said he was really hoping I would be on board for another if I am able to So I guess only time will tell!

This will be my fourth. FTM my first was NOT TYPICAL do not be scared.

First- induced at 42wks 1days. Labour for 72+ hours
. Water was broken for almost 48. Baby stuck in pelvis. Didn't freeze from spinal, cut me before they realized. had to be put under. Had baby 10lbz 4oz beautiful baby girl

(FTM i tried and succeeded to get pregnant six months later, so you know the first time was well worth it)
Second. Wanted VBAC. Daughter was breech and had cord wrapped around neck. When we tried to turn her cord got worse cause stressed. Casarean was immediately after this at 37 weeks 5 days she was 7lbs 11 oz

Third. After two caesareans the doctors I've talked to did not recommend VBAC
It was a planned birth. He was born at 38 weeks 5 days 8 lbs 12 oz

For both the second and third I had the spinal was wide awake and very much enjoyed the process, when I asked for baby I got them!
All mine were surprised and I asked for them to let me see and to not tell me and they granted my wishes and lowered my curtain and held baby up. My husband went with baby and I had baby with me as soon as I was stitched up!
All three were born in different towns at different hospitals.

This baby will be a planned event as well.
However I don't tell anyone the day.

I had some major guilt after my failures at my first two births. Mostly the first. But I've accepted my reality and it doesn't bother me now. I'm just happy to have had healthy babies!

Excuse my typing I'm on my mobile

This will be my second. My first was planned as I have fibroids that literally block the exit. They are a bit surprised they don't keep me from getting pregnant. I will be finding out this month I believe about when we will schedule. Last time was at 39 weeks. I have never been in labor

This will be my second, scheduled C-section. Bourne was breech and scheduled at 38 weeks for health reasons. Same for this guy - 38 weeks and scheduled. My Dr. and I discussed VBAC and she is not comfortable with a Vbac in my situation and I respect her. She specializes in higher risk and knows her stuff.

I am far more concerned that both baby and I make it to recovery in good shape than I am with the method of delivery. I think way too many women get too caught up in the method and lose site of what is important. Healthy mom and Healthy baby. What is healthy for one mom/baby may not be for another.

Kat.

The Evidence for Skin-to-Skin Care after a Cesarean « Evidence Based Birth

A doula friend shared this with me so I thought I'd pass it on to my fellow c/s'ers.
