We love our Diaper Genie. We use a changing pad on top of a desk...didn't think we would need it but ended up using it all the time. My kids actually like the wipe warmer, especially for those early morning diaper changes, but I hated how it dried out the wipes at the bottom.
My most important baby item has to be my babywearing stuff. Wraps, ring slings, soft structured carriers...it's an addiction, but I love not having to hassle with a stroller when we go places. We went to weddings and parties and I was free to move around, socialize, and dance while wearing my sleeping baby.
My most unused items...the stroller and the crib. LOL! We cosleep, so DD didn't go in her crib until she was 13 months old, and even then she only stayed in it for a few hours until we went to bed, then we brought her in with us. I hate hate hate using the stroller, but registered for one because my MIL and SIL were so sure I would need it. MIL finally gave in and told me I was right when we went to the zoo and she ended up pushing an empty stroller the whole time while I wore DD.

Both my boys loved the swing, but I'll definitely be getting a plug in one this time.
We used our double jogging stroller ALL THE TIME! We used it from the time DS2 was 8 months until just this past spring when they decided they'll just ride their bikes everywhere. I'll never go back to buying a regular stroller again. We spend a lot of time outside and the jogging strollers' big all terrain wheels can ride over pretty much everything, as opposed to a regular stroller which will get stuck in the smallest dirt hill.
A nursing wrap was a must for me, gotta cover up the girls! Unless your comfortable not covering them up, then I guess you don't need one. They's basically like a very wide, short apron with an adjustable neck strap.
I used the changing table a lot with my first, not so much with my second, even though we lived in an apartment with both of them. Now that we're in a house, I think I may use one and put it in the laundry room, which'll be handy for cloth diapers. Speaking of cloth diapers, a diaper sprayer is a very well spent $40.
Plenty of stretchy blankets for swaddling.
Not so useful:
I never used the Diaper Genie, just thinking about the waste makes me cringe.
Wipes warmer, I don't think my boys every truly minded the cold wipes.
Baby shoes, unless for pictures, I would never put shoes on my kids until after their walking was well established. I feel like they're bad for foot development and babies are less inclined to try to crawl when they can't feel the floor.
Useful: carriers (I love babywearing), swing, Rock & Play, quality breast pump, Bumbo
Waste: diaper pail, changing table, too many fancy outfits with lots of pieces to them, infant bath tub, bassinet
In all fairness, I'm a pretty no-frills mom so stuff that others may like I just don't have a need for. I breastfeed, bedshare, cloth diaper & babywear - it makes a lot of the "normal" stuff unnecessary for our family .
The drawstring gowns. I hated unsnapping to change the baby every 2 hours.
I had a little kind of play yard thing for when before baby was mobile that had like a screen dome over it. It was perfect for going out to the park or what not. but I have never seen one again :-(
I loved my glider and wish I still had it

Although I didn't LOVE the diaper genie, I did find it useful for the first 6 months that we used it - then we switched to cloth diapers. Although it was a pain to have to buy special (and expensive) bags for it, I've actually heard the other brand (can't remember the name) is better than the genie.
We've always used, and still use, our changing table (it was a changing pad thing on top of the dresser). Although we didn't live in a very big space, so it was never a far walk to change him. But it saved my back from having to bend down and over all the time!
Funny enough, the crib was a waste for us! LOL We ended up co-sleeping in a bassinet/pack n play and then bed sharing, he slept in his crib less than 5 times since the day he was born!!
Also hated our glider/rocker, rarely used it and it was uncomfortable. It became a catchall for clothing and shoes in his room.
Some of the bests were the bouncer and the pack n play. I would put him in either one when I wanted to take a shower, use the bathroom, etc. I would place the bouncer on the floor in the bathroom and it was so easy to take showers!! When he got older, I would just pop him in the PNP (which was in our bedroom, outside the bathroom) and still had freedom to shower!

We had one similar to this, it vibrated as well and played soft music
