I wanted to say thanks again to all of you who weighed in with helpful advice a couple of weeks ago when we were trying to decide what to about the house we had planned on buying. We actually found another neighborhood being built nearby. It's a little more removed from the main drag than the other (which is safer for kids), a bigger development for walking with the kids, a tot lot very close to the house, and I get my gas fireplace, heat, and cooking. It's a little more than I really wanted to spend and we may have to choose between having a guest room and a dedicated office (which is super necessary since I run a business and DH works from home most of the time) vs. just a corner of the basement. But we did get the finished basement with a full bathroom thrown in free and more in closing costs than other builders were offering, so it should be a really good home for us. The best part is, it is already under construction, so we are scheduled to close at the end of next month, giving us plenty of time to get ready before little Lena makes her debut. DD is super excited to have more room to play. She ran around the model, super excited.

Just wanted to share the good news and thank you all again! (And for people who had mentioned the one car garage as a resale problem, this one has the 2!)

Sounds like a perfect choice The positive thing is interest rates are so low right now that you will probably make up the difference in payment per month by buying now vs. In 6 months or so(rates are climbing). Congrats!

Thanks! We are super excited! Update is we move in March. The house is almost done (we walked through it yesterday) and it is amazing! I'm not sure what is taking until March, but it looks like all they have to do is install appliances, wire for ceiling fans, repair minor wall dents, and clean. So fantastic! Can't wait to post pics!
