My grandpa has had a really rough couple of months. My grandma was in the hospital for 3 weeks (he was by her side every waking moment) before she passed away a week before Thanksgiving. They were married for 68 years. Shortly after that, he started having major shoulder problems. He needed a total shoulder replacement, but is not a candidate bc of of his cardiac issues. He had a less major operation on it 3 days after Christmas. He is still struggling to heal from that and last night, he slipped on a wet floor in a restaurant bathroom and it looks like he has broken his hip. They will know something more detailed after his MRI today. He is 87 and that, along with his cardiac issues, makes his very grave for him. I was with him in the ER last night and he was in agony. The man is a beast, a pain tolerance like no one I have ever seen. Insisted he wasn't in terrible pain during two heart attacks, so if he was complaining he was in pain, it had to be excruciating. These last couple of months have been so hard on him and all of the trauma is starting to cause him to get confused at times.

Please pray for wisdom for the doctors to be able to help him, for pain relief, and for a speedy recovery. Thanks!

I know how hard it is to lose all of your grandparents and to lose two within one year that is one thing I would never wish on someone else so you better believe that I am praying for a quick recovery for your grandfather. Sending lots of good vibes your way!

Sending lots of prayers. My grandpa is 96 and it's so hard seeing this grizzly bear in a wheel chair unable to walk. I hope he heals quickly and holds onto some stubbornness.

Thanks, ladies! Yesterday we did get some good news from the orthopedist. He said that there definitely is a fracture in the hip socket, BUT his hip is not displaced, so it will not require surgery. Praise the Lord! He will have to use a walker until it heals and not put any weight on it. That is going to be the tough part. He is constantly trying to get us to help him up b/c he just wants to walk. The problems with his shoulder are also going to complicate his use of a walker and, if it causes too much pain there, he may not be able to use it. It is a precarious situation, but I know that God will see us all through this. We are just completely amazed that he doesn't need surgery. What a complete answer to prayer! And they don't think his shoulder is infected. There is a hematoma (bleeding of the wound on the inside) where he had the surgery that is causing the swelling in his shoulder, arm, and hand, but the incision itself is healing perfectly and the dr. does not believe there is any level of infection at all.

Again, thank you all for your prayers. It really does mean a lot to me.
