So since weve been talking about epis lately I got to wondering if epis really can affect your pushing time.
So BTDT moms how long did you push with each of your kids?

I had no epi and pushing time was approximately five minutes. Pushed three times and she was out.

I had no epidural and I pushed 4 hours, they were this close my DH said to giving me a C-section as I was done after an over 12 hour labor with no food and no rest. They used a vacumm at the end and it got him out. He was an OP (facing upwards) which they say makes it worse to push out and big (8 lbs 8 ozs) Im praying this next one is at least half that pushing time.

Sounds just like my friend. All her babies have come out that way though. I hope this one is in the correct position!

DS1- epi and pushed maybe 10-15 minutes. He had a huge head and was 8 pounds 13 oz
DS2- epi and I pushed less than 5 minutes...maybe 2 or 3 pushes. He was roughly 9 pounds.

With epi I pushed for less than 5 min. I push 4-5 times and spent most of that time waiting on the doctor to get her turned in the correct position.

Oh geez I hope this one isnt the same in both position and size Is there some kind of statistic that you are more likely to get them facing up or is it just random?

Our midwife said for her it may have to do with the shape of her pelvis since all 4 of hers came face up.
