So I found out today that the New Kids on the Block (!!!) will be having a show in DC on June 14, exactly one week before my baby is due. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE me some NKOTB. I went to their first reunion tour a few yrs back and it was the best show I have ever seen. They really know how to perform. I even made sweet shirts for my sister and myself with an old NKOTB pic on the front. The back of hers said "Still Hangin' Tough" and mine said "Still Got the Right Stuff." It was way too much fun and I can't pass this up. But, knowing that there is a remote possibility of me going into labor during the show, I have a plan:

I will make DH drive us to the show (DD can spend the night with my parents) and he and a friend can go to one of the bars in the area. That way, if I go into labor, he can just pick me up and take me straight to the hospital. It will only take about 45-50 mins to get to the hospital from there and my last labor was 28.5 hrs long. So I figure I should be fine. Actually, I'm hoping to make it through the show just fine, but to go into labor on the way home. I think it would make for a fun story. Labor brought on by dancing to some New Kids. I know I'm a dork, but I am so excited about that idea.

That sounds like a blast. My luck my baby would actually be born at the concert.

I was in preschool. The only reason I got into them is bc my older sister and I shared a room at the time. But I was way too small waving my hands and singing Hangin' Tough. If you liked them a lot and remember the songs, you should really try to check out their shows. They are really good live! Tons of fun!

Oh gosh no. I havent liked them since I was little. A friend of mine is still obsessed with them so I relistened to everything again and while i still remembered the lyrics I just cant get into that music again. I do listen to everything but I usually listen to whats current or depending on my mood I will listen to some classics...or stuff from my teen years...ie...90s alternative

I went to their original concert back in the day! LOL I had NKOTB EVERYTHING from pillow cases, bed sheets, t shirts, boxer shorts, you name it, I had it!

And it's so funny you post this because my friend texted me earlier with the info saying "Too bad you'll be 39.5 weeks pregnant" LOL Maybe I'll go and hope it brings on labor! That would be awesome!! Too bad the concert is in NC and by that time I'll be living in FL permanently! Boo!!

If I don't go into labor at or right after the show, I will try to post some pics for you! I will also be making a new t shirt in maternity.

I went to the NKOTBSB concert a couple years ago too! =)

I've been a NKOTB fan since as long as I can remember - my dad bought me my first new kids poster and tape when I was in elementary school AND - backstreet boys fan since 1993 when I received a mix tape of them with my bop magazine subscription! So I know exactly how you feel - BSB is going on a 20th anniversary tour this year and I jumped with joy when I saw that they were starting in China in late may and knew I should be good to go for the concert.

Wonder when NKOTB , 98 degrees and Boys II men will be playing their show here? Don 't get me started on my love of boys II men - when they announced this "the package" tour today I was freaking out. LOL

This makes me feel super old. I was in 5th and 6th grade when they were around. Donnie was my favorite.

Awesome! I also went to the NKOTBSB tour. Loved it!!! I really like Boyz II Men too, but not 98 Degrees so much, so I'm thinking I'll skip this tour since I'll have a teeny tiny baby when they're here. Excited about their new album though! Love their last one.

I have always loved Joey McIntyre. I got to meet him at show he did for his last solo album (it was him doing the standards in 2007, amazing) and DH (then DF) had to take the picture while my sister and I were freaking out like little girls that he was touching us. He signed my cd. He also sang Please Don't Go, Girl and I melted.

OK. I didn't like NTOTB when they were young and in style, I really don't care to spend a ton of money to see them now, especially with a newborn at home.

Now, if Depeche Mode were to have their reunion tour in TX that week, I would be there, nursing new born and all!!!

They are not in Dallas until June 28, so put that baby in sling and gently rock out!

They are coming to Charlotte too. I considered it but that is a little too close to my due date for my comfort. Plus i'm not sure i'd want to spend the money on that or get anyone to go with me. I went to two NKOTB concerts back in the day. The first they opened up for Tiffany and then the next time Tiffany was the opener for them. My sister and I both had all their tapes (yes my parents bought duplicates because we would fight over them otherwise).

I shouldn't have a problem selling my ticket to one of my sister's friends if need be. I can't risk missing this. There aren't many people I would get this excited to see. The only other one would be Dolly Parton. Last time I saw NKOTB, I saw Dolly the next week. Freakin' amazing. Best. Week. Ever. I wish I could relive that... But this will at least be the first half!
