Yesterday my husband worked from home - and by worked I mean had his phone handy to answer any IT questions or issues that might arise - and so we spent the afternoon watching episodes of Star Trek: Voyager (yes, we're big geeks). We had a fire in the fireplace, I had a nice warm cup of decaf coffee, and a cat snuggling on my lap, and DD snuggling next to me (she's a mini-geek in training, she loves Star Trek!). I can't imagine a more relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
I get massages and I sew, read, or watch TV. The massages aren't as often as I'd like...maybe every 3 months now vs. every 2 weeks back when I was working, but I get 90 minute massages these days and it's HEAVEN. I have a girl's night once a week where my friends come over and we all sew together. And I always have time to read or watch TV when the kids go to bed every night. I HAVE to have my time to unwind or I'm cranky. And DH doesn't like dealing with a cranky me, so he makes sure I get it.

Really relax? Not often, but am right now! DD is in bed, DH is picking up his mom at the airport and taking her to her hotel, and I just enjoyed a bowl of creamy homemade Mac and cheese (I realized I had only eaten about 700 calories today, whoops!), and am watching last week's Top Chef. Just wish I could have a nice glass of wine...
