Ugh for the life of me deciding on a middle name isnt easy. I dont like old fashioned names at all. I love unusual names. DDs Middle name is Raine and that goes real well with our last name which is a season So we kind of like the idea of having little guys middle name represent some sort of element also...IE..Air/Fire/Earth/Water. As Raine is obviously a water name. We are set on Tristan for a first name. And so far the middle name suggestions are River(which goes with the element thing however the Er at the end sounds weird with our last name cuz thats an ER also) And then also Jude(I liked this but it was too close to DDs first name) and then Kai. Anyone else have any suggestions? And which of the three do you like best?

Knowing your last name, River doesn't flow as well because of the similar endings. I like Kai the best also!

I agree that if your last name was something different I would pick river, but I don't think it flows with your last name.

River is my favorite but knowing your last name doesn't flow well with that, I like Kai the second best!

I got looking around for meanings of the name Kai...and the main meaning is The Sea or the Ocean...which totally fits with the water thing for DDs middle name. But it also has scottish roots and means Keeper of the Keys. So a link to DHs heritage. And it also means Willow Tree in Navajo (My fave tree and both DH and I have Native american obsessions) So after talking to DH....Tristan Kai it is for sure....Set in stone Whew!

Yes and no. I am slowly coming to terms with it in my own way. However I still would have loved another girl. And if I see girl stuff or let myself think about it I do get a bit bummed still.

I love Tristan Kai. Tristan was on our "like" list but our last name starts with T so we didn't want TT. I love Kai but know of a few named in the school I teach at and I was really going for something I couldn't associate with anyone at work.

We considered all of those except Ray(too old for my taste) and Brooke was too feminine for DH. The only one we liked was Aiden....a name Ive loved for awhile....BUT its our godsons name lol So that ruled that name out even tho I loved it. We settled on Kai

I love the name Tristan Kai. I also think it's kind of funny that you don't like old fashioned names, but Tristan has been around since the middle ages (think Tristan & Isolde). But it really is a lovely name. Great choice!
