DDs school seems to start the earliest around here. She's in JK and school starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm 5 days a week. We live on the same street as the school but since she's in JK she takes the bus. The bus arrives at 7:56am and drops her off at 3:58pm. Sometimes I feel like it's an awfully long day for her!

DS gets on the bus at 7:25, school starts at 7:50, and dismissal is 2:50. Get's off the bus at the sitters at 3:30, and SO picks him up there around 4:30.

We homeschool... start right after breakfast and finish the bulk of it by lunch time (but we eat lunch late- usually 2 in the afternoon). That's how it goes when we are on a normal schedule anyway, there are always days where we have to adjust or it takes longer or whatever.

If they went to public school the bus would pick them all up (the local school is K-12 in one building) at about 6 a.m. and bring them back around 4:30 p.m. The ridiculous long day is one reason we pulled our oldest out of kindergarten, that was 12 years ago!

I just saw how old your daughter is...I think your Junior Kindergarten may be similar to our Pre-K or pre-kindergarten in the states. Pre-k is generally not mandatory, at least around here. But for the schools that offer it, the schedule is the same as the big kids: 7:50-3:20.

We have pre-k here too, and it is full day.

I wish we had full day kindergarten! Fiona is in JK as well, and 2 1/2 hours is just not long enough most days! School starts at 8:50 and ends at 11:20. It's not that I don't WANT to spend the day with her, I love when she has days off and vacation and whatnot...but 2 1/2 hours is just long enough to get really involved in a project or something and then have to cut it short...or enough time to do stuff that needs to be done, but no time for myself!

My son was in VPK which is voluntary Pre k and he went to school from 9-12, 5 days a week. I pulled him out of school the beginning of January since I was very disappointed in his school. Will keep him home until he starts kindergarten in August.

My primary school children start at 8:50 and finish at 3:20 - it's a 2 minute walk to school (we live on the same road as the school!)

My high schoolers (eldest 2) start at 8:45 and finish at 3:30. My husband drops them at the train station at 8am, they get the train at 8:10 and get off at 8:25, and then its a 15 minute walk to school.

My oldest is in Kindergarten. We homeschool so we start the day after breakfast and we are normally done by lunch time.
