What would you guys do? am I being to picky?

I have a crib/changer and it is in some espresso color. Well I ordered a dresser I thought would match and it came. Well it's called espresso cherry. Well they don't match one has way more red in it than the other. But they are both dark brown.

Would you guys send the dresser back? i really don't feel like returning it. But am a little bummed they don't match.

Do you guys think it's that big of deal?

I think I am getting too picky lol

Honestly if it was me it will drive me nuts. I say change it if you know you're not gonna be happy with it.

I would not even think twice about it. I hate rooms where everything matches. We have a lot of wood furniture, mostly hand me downs, in all different finishes. It is part of the natural beauty of wood that different pieces look different. You can even use the exact same stain on 2 pieces of the same species of wood and it can come out different. I can't imagine spending extra money just to make everything match but that is just my opinion. If it was that important to have matching colors I would just paint everything with the same paint.

If it bothers you change it. Personally it wouldn't bother me, but if you know it is always gonna bug you then I would change it.

I'd say if the crib & changing table were meant to match (similar design) then I'd take it back. However, if they are different styles you can buy other wood accent pieces that are maybe dark but not the same. Then not matching would be matching, if that makes sense. I'd probably be one who would take it back. I'm in the process of trying to find a dresser for ds3 and want it to match our old toddler bed, but I'm so anal, I might end up picking out a new toddler bed just to be sure, lol!

lol, if I worried about that then I would hate my entire house. But then I'm not a super organized/artistic designer kind of person. I'm not even eclectic. I'm just "mess" lol

I would probably take it back and get the matching one. My house is all sorts of different woods because of getting hand me down future from family. But I do like woods that are in the same room to match each other, especially if I am paying for the furniture

Maybe it won't be so noticeable once everything is put together in the nursery? Try keeping the 2 pieces on opposite sides of the room and you won't constantly be seeing them side by side.

If it were me, I'd send it back. Like others say, if it was handed down, it would be different. But, if I'm paying, I want it to match.
