We were going to fly to GA for DH's grandpa's funeral via standby passes since the last minute tix would have been close to $1000. We just don't have that kind of money to spend with closing on the house next month. So we got to the airport at 10:30 this morning ,, and sat there all day, watching flight after flight leave with no seats for us. I tried everything. I called airlines, spoke to people on the phone and in person, played the pregnancy card and the funeral card to no avail. After not getting on the fifth flight, I broke down crying hysterically in the airport. Cried while talking to DH to figure out what to do, cried as we made our way to the car rental shuttle, the whole way on the shuttle, and while we were getting the car. We are driving one way 12+ hours to get there, arriving after 6 in the morning, hoping to have time to shower before the funeral. We will both be going to this funeral on no sleep at all and I am a weepy bll of hormones. This will also be the longest I have been away from DD, which is making my crying even worse. We have flown these passes many times without issue. The only times we have had problems are today and when my grandpa In FL passed away. If you see something on you 11 o'clock news about a pregnant woman losing it over a chicken sandwich at a drive-thru tonight, it's probably me...
Kill me now. We were an hour on the road, got off to get some food and keep going, and DH didn't look in front of him before he decided to pull forward at a right turn yield sign and rear ended someone. I could scream! He did the exact same idiot thing in December! I could strangle him! And now we're sitting in a parking lot on the phone with the rental insurance company trying to sort this out. God only knows when we will get to GA. Or if DH will make it alive...
