DH has a Bachelor of Science degree and is a chemist, much smarter than me. I never went to college, not one class lol. I knew in the 8 grade it wasn't for me, I hated school. Didn't go over well with my parents for a long time but I've done well and proved myself. I'm a hard worker and know how to apply logic well. I do believe that college is a great advantage but not everything and not for everyone, some things can't be taught.

I'm in mid level management for an insurance company in the small town we live in. DH is low level management for a drug company in a large city he commutes to so we make pretty close to the same amount base salary but he gets a ton of overtime so he wins at the end of the year. but we will be paying off his student loans for the next 10 years so.... Maybe I win lol.

I have my BS in Animal Science. Biggest waste of 4 years and money. You can't really do anything with an Animal Science degree unless you want to go on to Veterinary school (I did at one point but then had my daughter and my plans changed). I am now a RVT (registered veterinary technician) and my job in particular is as a surgical tech at a large vet hospital. I could have got the job I have now with waaaaay less time in school, but oh well! One day I would like to go back to school for nursing so I can do what I do now but hopefully get paid better.

DF has an associates degree. He works as a Network Engineer for a wireless internet company. They do a lot of stuff in with oil and gas companies and he gets paid very well for what he does. Basically, he has less student loan debt than me and makes 3X what I do.

DH is in his very last quarter of his 4 year degree at UW; he's in the fisheries dept studying conservation with a minor in statistics. He's hoping to find a government job when it's all done. I only had one year of college, in art education, and then quit school. I was too young and totally uncertain of what I wanted to do and I didn't want to waste all that time and money to end up with a degree I wouldn't use. I'm glad I left, but I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

Our goal is for DH to find a job where we can get by with me staying home or working part time until the kids are in school, and then I'll focus on what I want to do. I did years of retail management and ended up with a job as an innkeeper at a small B&B. I'm veeeerrrrrry ready to leave my job and I don't think I'll go back.

I have a master's and DH is working on his. I make more per hour, but his overall income is more. He works full time and I only work 3 days a week. I try to balance keeping a career and being a good mom. Because of the nature of what i do, I can't be behind in the field and just drop back in when my kids start school. I wish I could stay home for a few years... But I get to be a mom and a business woman, so it works out really well for us. And DH is super supportive.

DH has two degrees he doesnt use. He went to college as for awhile he wanted to be an art teacher. Then he went into the Navy and went thru schooling there to be a doctor.
Now hes a logistics specialist/broker. Which means he deals with brokering shipments blah blah fancy title for basically selling shipments to other companies when the company he works for doesnt ship to a particular state.
I only got my GED and while now I am a SAHM. Before that I was a level 2 Xray tech in NDT(Non destructive testing) which is basically testing all variety of parts made of of metals or welded. Example...Pipelines for Natural Gas anytime the pipeline is replaced every single weld has to be tested to make sure the weld is good and not weak so no explosions happen. Also airplane parts are tested to make sure they can handle the stress of altitude etc. And my job makes triple of what DH makes. But hours are often very long (80 to 100 hour weeks) and of course then theres the radiation exposure risks

We do, actually. We even graduated from the same law school (me at a later time lol). We are both lawyers but he makes more than I do. I've only been practicing for two years and he's been practicing for almost 10 years.

I have an associates degree but never did much with it. I worked as a computer lab manager at the University and was working before that for AOL while in school. I stay home now and my degree just means I still get to pay back student loans.

My dh didn't even graduate high school. He dropped out then eventually got his ged. He doesn't have a degree but enough computer related certifications that he got a job working for the DOD. He's currently in school to get his bachelors. He makes as much as my mom didher last year working as an RN.
