hey gals.
Do you think this bedding set it too plain. I really just like the darker blue color and there are not that many sets out there with that royal blue color.

Oh and I was going to ask, do you ladies use the bumpers at all when your child gets older or do you never use them?

no link =(
but by googling it, i wouldnt buy it due to the plainness but thats just me oh and the white sheet, no way!
Keep in mind you don't use that blanket at all. Ours stayed in the closet the whole time
we always used the bumper
we used the bumper that came with the set until he could pull himself up and than we switched to a breathable one so he couldnt use it to catapult himself out

I like it. But I do like plain.
We are skipping the bumper that comes in the set and using a breathable one.

There is a link now. I think the sheet is blue with small white dots.

I figured I can "decorate with the blanket and drape it over the chair or something. Or use it just when I am holding baby.

I thought bumpers were a big NO No ??

OK here is my situation. I am kind of set on doing a darker blue (like royal blue) and darker gray theme. I would paint the walls those 2 colors. And hope to get a gray chair. I can not for the life of new find hardly any BLUE cribbing sets except a baby blue color.

But it is really plain which I sort of don't like.

I would get the bedding set (minus the bumpers), the diaper stacker, the curtains, valace and the mobile I think even thou the mobile is expensive. I thought about painting the wall behind the crib with gray and then the wall with the curtains that darker blue and do the other two walls however with those 2 colors.

I do wish the set was not so plain but i can not find anything with that royal blue color. I am not thrilled with dots either haha

I personally think the whole bedding sets are a waste of money (of course I did but them with my oldest and a partial set with my son). You don't actually use the comforter so unless you plan to use it as a wall hanging or something, it goes unused.

As far as bumpers go, I only used a partial bumper for DS once he got older because he would scoot forward in his sleep until his head hit the end if the crib. I got bumpers that I could put just one end up (some of them come in one big piece or two pieces, I prefer the 4 individual side pieces). That way he wasn't jamming his head up against the crib rails.

I can't see the link but I would avoid any light colored sheets. That is my personal preference. We've had one too many blowouts over the years AND my son had awful reflux so I prefer darker colors or busier patterns that won't show stains as well. Just my opinion though

I personally don't like it. To plain for me. I have used the bumper pads for both my girls and my 15 month still uses hers. I will use the one for Zack too.

here is the sheet
Simplicity Blue Crib Sheet by One Grace Place - Simplicity Blue - Cotton

i don't think it's that light

I get what you guys say about not using the blanket and the sets being a waste of money.

I do appreciate everyone opinions.

I guess I was just trying to find a way to decorate the room a royal blue color.

Does not one use the comforter to decorate or to hold baby while rocking or etc.??

I actually like it, with some accents it would be fine. I never used the blanket to rock the baby or anything, they are usually pretty bulky. But I do use Everett's now. We used a bumper until they are rolling around then we remove them, but our kids don't spend much time in cribs anyways.

I used my sons comforter as a wall hanging and it was very cute in his room. My daughter's ended up hanging over the end of crib mostly. Most of those comforters I find are not very good for wrapping baby up in...too stiff and not nearly thin enough (at least for where I live.

I thought you liked the bedding.

Since you are not the biggest fan, then I know I have seen several sets that are darker blue that are really cute. Do you have a price range/budget or anything that is offlimits or a preference? I know I saw a PBKids set with navy and white stripes and alligators that was really cute.

OK, last one I promise. I know you said you wanted Royal blue as the main bedding color, but I think this would look amazing in the room you have described, especially if you use royal blue accents to match the accents in this one. And since it is custom, if you hate the orange, I bet she could sub in a navy bumper with orange piping.

I agree, bedding sets are a waste of money specially since you will never use the crib comforter it comes with. We bought a really nice set for DS and I never used that comforter. This time I'm buying the items separately and I'm only getting a crib skirt and sheets and MIL is making her a blanket she will actually use. Won't be getting a crib bumper since I hear they're not even safe anymore. I do see this set has a comfortable looking blanket so you probably will get use out if it. I think it's nice and simple and the price is not bad. Have you tried looking for the pieces separately? That way you can create a set you really like at a cheaper price.

Here's some suggestions
Crib skirt

Sheets could be plain white

Add a grey bumper if you want, maybe chevron?

Made a collage for you of some ideas, you could do plain white sheets or grey sheets would look really nice too. Or you could do grey crib skirt and the blue sheets you posted about on the link above.

I like the darker color blue. The bedding is alright but it is sorta plain Jane.

Where does anyone see white sheets??? I don't think I want white sheets, I hope this set does not come with white sheets
