I am sooooo ready for maternity leave. I work for a pharmacy call center and I'm just exhausted sitting taking calls 8hrs every day. So much I'd rather it be June already so I can spend 8hrs NOT taking calls lol

Any other working moms ready to take off

I work in childcare and spend most of my day on my feet chasing after kids, cleaning, mopping, organizing, etc. This is nicely sandwiched between the times I spend doing the EXACT same thing at my house, lol.

12 more weeks and I'm DONE! Yay! I'm hoping that the baby does not come until 40+weeks because I would love for the two weeks after quitting and before the baby to spend with Alex and be all chummy before the upset, lol.

Me! I'm a surgical tech at a veterinary hospital which means I spend a good portion of my day wrestling animals and dealing with a variety of nastiness. It's starting to get a lot harder to restrain large animals and even harder to move them after they've been sedated. I'm ready to spend my days wrestling something much smaller!

ughhh i'm sooo ready to be done and have a little break! I work in a restaurant as a bartender so I'm on my feet for about 9+ hours. If I'm lucky I get 5 minutes to sit down and eat...which is not always the case since that means our managers would have to cover the bar, and the one that's usually is on doesn't like making drinks since she doesn't know how to (and we do have a book with the recipes). Plus I've been getting annoyed at how the two pregnant managers eat whenever they want, sit whenever they want, and get out of doing nearly everything because they are pregnant. The other day the one used up the rest of the soup for her dinner, and didn't put a new bag in (the bags are maybe 2 lbs?)...her excuse was that she might splash soup on her stomach pouring it in and "burn" the baby....but then she thought it was ok to ask me to do it for her. psssssshhhhhhhhh

I am sooo ready! I was just thinking that this morning. I feel a little useless at work (i am a nurse at an urgent care)... I just don't have much motivation to work these 12 hour shifts... i am so tired after working 2 in a row. But i just don't want to take off too soon either. I am going to try to make it to the end.???? we will see.

I only work one day a week but my job is really physical (mostly housekeeping, carry heavy things up and down our many flights of stairs, etc.) and I'm just OVER it. I don't think I'm going back once I go on leave, so I'm ready to just be done for good. I hate the place. But we need the money, though it's not much it does help. I'm hoping to leave by mid-April so we can spend Sundays together doing spring-like things as a family before the baby comes. It's the only day DH has off and I'm sick of working every minute he's not.

I don't get maternity leave but I don't think I'm going back. I am on my feet most of the day putting together clients' tax returns. Plus I'm the office b**** so I have to make the grocery runs, do the office dishes, go out to the mailbox, etc. The other day I had to buy 10 cases of soda for the office and carry them all in by myself. I was exhausted and the other admin had the nerve to ignore me while I was struggling but as soon as I sat down she starts nagging me about something stupid. I was so tempted to tell her to kiss my butt and leave but I didn't. Can't wait to get out of there in June

Check your state's laws. I know in CA, we're allowed 6 weeks of leave BEFORE our due date and we are paid 60% of our salary (comes out of our taxes anyway, so might as well make use of it). Then we get another 6 weeks after baby is born, again at 60% of our salary. At least that's how it was almost 3 years ago when I was working and pregnant with DS. My company at the time paid for 9 weeks at full pay and I took another 3 weeks of full pay using vacation time and then the CA 6 weeks after that.

I'm a part time employee (full time 4 months out of the year, part time the rest) so I have no benefits through my company. Plus, it is a small company of only 11 employees so it does not have to offer FMLA. It's fine, I knew that going in. I'm sure they would work something out if I wanted to stay, but 6 weeks isn't long enough for me
