So I kinda went crazy online today and bought lots of stuff for baby girls nursery. Bought her:
-Crib
-Dresser/changing table
-crib skirt
-changing pad cover
-curtains
-crib sheets

Whooo I had to share my joys with you ladies. All I need is the rug now and I'm pretty much set on the nursery and also some extra decor. I'm so excited! After it all arrives we'll be set for baby girl. All I need is clothes for her, believe or not I only have like 5 outfits. I figured we would buy all the big stuff since I'm sure for our baby shower we will get lots of clothing! Yayyy can't wait to get it all.

So jealous of your shopping fun. And you're right. People love to give clothes at a baby shower instead of some of the other things you really need/want. I think clothes are more fun for other people to shop for. And sounds like you had a lot of fun with the big stuff anyway!

Very true, I made a registry but most people don't really buy off the registry which is ok since we'll appreciate anything from anyone.. We pretty much have all the big stuff covered. We're just so grateful to give our princess everything she deserves

Yup, if people know the gender they will only buy clothing or non-essential gender themed things.

Hence why I refuse to find out the gender I have family asking me what I need because they feel like they should get SOMETHING for this new baby. So far I've gotten a sewing machine (to help with cloth diapering accessories and to make simple items yay!), books, and offers to buy various small equipment thingies.

I feel awful though that this baby isn't going to get a bunch of new things. The crib is all chewed up, the walls aren't repainted, all the toys and equipment will be hand-me-downs. I've decided that we'll go to the hardware store this week and look at paint colors. I will have one picked out for "boy" and one for "girl" and DH can repaint the nursery while I am in the hospital (baby will be sleeping in the pack n' play in our room so that should give plenty of drying/airing time).
