Lots of fiber! I've found that if I eat at least a banana a day, it'll help with my heartburn and the constipation, for the most part. I was constipated all weekend, and after I finished off a box of cereal, I had no problem going. Also drink lots of water.

I had that problem early on and it was by far the worst constipation of my life! I know it's not the most appealing solution but it worked wonders for me and it worked fast: prune juice. I drank 8 oz morning and night for 48 hours and I ended up getting major relief. After that, I drank a glass once a day or even every other day and I never had that problem again.

I've since stopped drinking it all together...I guess I must be getting plenty of fiber or something because I'm as regular as can be now.

I'll go through phases of being super regular to super constipated! and I can't find a difference in my diet to cause it.

My constipation is much worse this pregnancy!! Ugh, so over it! I drink water ALL.DAY.LONG. Seriously, I can't stress water enough...and just when you think you'll float away, keep chugging! lol =) I eat lots of veggies (raw) and fruit like pears and apples. I get extra fiber by cereal and stay away from heavy carbs and meats. Beef specifically...chicken and fish I'm fine with. I also take Miralax daily and a dose of Peri-Colace once a week. And even with all that, I still might only go 3-5 times a week, if I'm lucky.

I carry a natural supplement through my business that works wonders for keeping me regular, even during pregnancy. That, plus water & Fiber One bars, seem to do the trick .

I started having trouble a while back. I tried everything, fiber cereal, lots of fruits and veggies, etc, etc. I finally broke down and bought some colace and I've been taking two every night before bed. And it only works if I drink enough water during the day, otherwise I'm still out of luck. I just couldn't take it anymore.

I haven't found anything that works (but I have IBS which acts up during pregnancy so that might be the reason as well). The absolutely only thing that works *some* of the time is my morning coffee. Other than that it really hasn't gotten better.

I swear by CALM magnesium plus calcium. It helps my heartburn too so its double awesome. Magnesium is a really effective laxative and very safe, it just pulls water into your colon, which moves stuff through. I also eat fiber rich foods and avoid cheese and dairy but the CALM powder is my silver bullet for when things get bad!

I mix prune and apple or plum and apple juice together when I get constipated. It doesn't really seem to be happening much this time around, lucky for me! If it gets terrible and its been a couple days, TMI, I will mix a little miralax into the juice

I'm glad you posted this! I have stayed constipated this entire pregnancy! No matter what I do! I am so over it and sick of feeling so uncomfortable! I didn't know miralax was safe to take so I'm gona try that.

I eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables and the only time I get constipated is pregnancy. Dried apricots work well for me - I try to work a serving a day into my snacks.
