Well today I had a great US experience in the morning, then went out to lunch, then started having the most horrible abdominal pains. I stuck it out from about 2 until 6, tried drinking a ton of water and even soaking in the tub. So I finally called my Dr and he said to please come to the hospital. So I went and they checked my cervix, and checked for contractions and for preterm labor. Everything was fine! Baby was moving and kicking like crazy. I even got to listen to him hiccup. I told my Dr I felt silly for worrying and he reassured me that that is what they are there for is to take care of me for anything. It turns out the spicy Cajun lunch I had was to blame :-( once I started passing gas I was better...it just took it six hours to come out! I've told myself this entire pregnancy that I wouldn't worry to that point, but I was crying my eyes out it hurt so.bad! Better safe than sorry I guess!
I had the same thing happen last weekend as far as a pregnancy scared that I didn't know if I should do anything. I got an aura in my right eye that lasted an hour. It was flashing and bright and I couldn't see. I called the maternity ward and they said I should come in. I researched and it was a sign of preeclampsia so I was a little worried. I know some people get auras like that but I had never had one. I went and got checked and myself and baby were fine. They all said I did the right thing though because it could have been very serious. When I had my regular appt the next week the nurse was proud because I knew it was a symptom and went in, so I felt better. She said it happened to her when she was pregnant and at the pediatrician's office with her children. They called the ambulance and it turned out she was fine also.
Gas pain is no joke. It hurts really bad. I have strep and I'm congested so when I sleep, I am swallowing a ton of air. I woke up twice last night in awful pain and had to walk my bedroom length for 10-20 minutes to work all the built up gas out. Then probably spent another 15 min in bed after that working out the rest. That happened to me twice!
I have been getting those horrible gas pains too! It has almost sent me to the hospital a couple times already because I was *sure* it was labor. I am glad everything is okay. It is better safe then sorry. With my last pregnancy I was so paranoid all the time I went into L & D 4 or 5 times before I finally delivered
