Have you decided what you will do with your beads yet? Share your ideas! I'm thinking maybe a keychain, that way I carry it around with me just about everyday and everywhere I go! My other thought is a bracelet of some sort. I'd prefer the stretchy type, but I'd be afraid it would break if it gets caught on something. We'll see!
I myself was considering doing a strand as mine will be going with me into the labor room and I will likely use the beads like worry stones. Something to focus on during contractions basically. Although I do have all the stuff to make bracelets/necklaces/earrings/keychains/watches as I bead as a hobby.
Brianne when I make necklaces or bracelets...depending on the type and size of beads and the size of stretchy string or fishline or wire I use often I will double or even triple it(depending on what size beads) so that if one strand breaks theres always backup.
I'm thinking of making them into a strand as well. I plan on taking them into the hospital with me when I'm in labor. I might make them into a loop like Greek worry beads come in (we have TONS of those around here, since they're SO cheap in tourist shops in Athens), that way I can use them JUST like worry beads. The flipping and the twirling would be a good distraction :-P
I sent out 2 beads per lady and one of them has a fairly small hole to thread the string through. I really hope it doesn't cause any issues for anything y'all are wanting to make with them.
For instance the key-chain, would you use fishing-line type string for that? That's about the largest string that would thread through my beads.
I'm really into the making a key-chain idea and the dream-catcher is awesome too. I'm having a c/s so I won't be laboring and I don't think they let me bring anything into the OR. I did get away with bringing my little stuffed tiger last time but I know jewelry is not allowed.
Loving these ideas!
OoooOOOh!! A dream-catcher mobile for baby would be so cute!
Rochelle when I have made keychains I use the typical keychain ring. And slip knot the fishing line on(the thicker the better and I often double or triple the line if possible. String the beads and tie off the end using several knots and sometimes those small holed beads work good for an end piece near where you are tying it off so dont worry. Even sead beads Ive been able to fit two lines of fish line thru and they are frickin tiny! Lol
