Had another appointment today, and I have to say, I'm kinda hoping the doctor I saw today is on call when I go into labor, because he's sure to be able to distract me with his humor and all his talking! I gained 10lbs since my last appointment but my doctor didn't seem concerned so I'm just going with it.
I asked him if/when I needed a birth plan in place, and he said whenever. He said if I feel more comfortable having something in writing to go ahead and do that, but he's sure all the doctor's in the clinic will listen to my wishes. He then asked what my plan was, and when I said I wanted to have a natural, med-free birth, he was like great! We encourage that. But he also went through all the pain med options and how they go about it, just so that I'm knowledgeable in case I change my mind in the middle of labor. He said they will probably try and push an epidural or pain meds on me, but that's only because they don't like seeing people in pain, and they're trying to be compassionate. He told me though, that their priorities measure up like this: Health of Mother/Baby, Delivery, and then pain control.
I also had my glucose test today. Not something I wish to repeat, so hopefully I pass!
