So today my MiL worked on the crib blanket and I made some pillows for her nursery here's some pics of the pillows, we couldn't finish the blanket due to technical difficulties with the darn sewing machine, she will try and finish it tomorrow. They are made of minky fabric (so is the blanket) and they're both white on white side and purple on the other. I'm pretty proud of myself since I'm not really a sewer, but I'm pretty crafty and a very fast learner. They came out really good!

UPDATE! Blanket is finished!!!!

BTW IM N THE DOUBLE DIGITS STARTING TODAY!!!!! WOOT WOOT

Cute! Minky is a pain to sew. I made Madison an outfit with it a few weeks ago and my machine did not like the fabric no matter what setting or tension I put it on. It's so soft and nice though! What app is that?

Ughh tell me about it, the pillows were easy since it was a lot less fabric but we had a hard time with the blanket, it kept moving and buldging up. The app is called big day lite, it's not on the ipad side yet. It's an iPhone app but I downloaded it in my iPad anyway. It's just doesn't it the whole screen. And then it lets you pick your background so I put her ultrasound pic

Awesome, they look super soft!!! Sewing stretchy fabrics is really difficult. Try sewing something with quilting cotton (totally non stretchy!!) and you will see the difference. I have heard that you can use a special needle on your machine to make sewing stretchy fabric easier but I have never done it myself.

Thanks for the tip. I think I want to sew a car seat cover next with that fabric you're talking about I'm all in to making things these days, its really fun and kinda relaxing, when the sewing machine cooperates.. Lol

Ooh those look really soft!! I've made a stuffed animal from minky, and it was a bit tricky. Anything stretch or slick is a pain but I enjoy sewing too
