I really want these lamps (rose petal one) Butterfly & Rose Shades & Chloe Base | Pottery Barn Kids

However, the price is over the top for just a lamp.

I saw this site online and am thinking of making them myself. http://knockoffdecor.com/rose-petal-lamp-shade/ Do you think hot glue would have the rose petal stick when the light is on? Not sure if the heat would make things fall????

If anything try E6000 glue (found at any craft store).

I was going to suggest a different glue. Hot glue would make me nervous since it is on a lamp.

I was going to suggest E6000 too. It smells terrible though!

Using a glue gun would work fine. I've trimmed plain white shades with ribbon using a hot glue and there's no problem with it. I think that stuff only melts once - once you've used it and it's cooled, it's not going to melt again.
