I came home from work today and DH showed me a giant bag full of new baby clothes. A client of his had boy and gender neutral baby clothes that were new and still in packages. They heard we were having a boy so they just gave him all those clothes. There are several cute onesies and some pjs in all different sizes. I'm just touched that people I've never met before did something so nice.
Cool!! I got some AMAZING hand me downs from a colleague of DH's when I had M. Apparently she has very particular taste but a ton of well to do friends and relatives (her dad was really well connected in our old town) and lots of stuff still had tags. Hanna Andersson and fancy stuff, it was amazing. Sounds like you got a similar windfall
When we found out we are having a girl this time I started sorting out all the boy clothing I had. I have been giving it to different people depending on when their kids were born and what their kids like. For instance, I have a co-worker whose son loves Disney characters. I pulled out those items for her. One idea is to send a personal thank you card and/or picture of the baby upon arrival. I know that I spend hours sorting all the clothing I was giving away. I really felt good about what I did when I realized that other people appreciated it. I know that I should just give from the heart. A thank you really helps though. I know one person told me they were saving for a downpayment on a house and the clothing helped. (I had loads to donate in that my kids are 8 and 10).
