I know in Europe, most are in the kitchen. In my house, our washing machines are in the master bathroom and kitchen. The one in the bathroom is a God send since we bathe the kids in our bath tub. The one in the kitchen is just...there lol. The builders of the house put two of each, washing machine and dryer, in the house. The only downside is that the dryers are in the corridor so I still have to lug wet laundry to them

We have a laundry room on our second floor. I love it up there. It makes putting laundry in so easy.

We live in a ranch and laundry is in the basement however...the stairs are in the garage so I have to go through the garage and down the stairs...boooo! I have thought about getting a cheap washer to put in our garage for diapers only.

When we moved in they were down in the basement, a very creepy basement. But we bought upgraded HE washer and dryers and put a water line into a little alcove off of the kitchen. I still have to bring clean clothes up and dirty ones down, but I'd much rather have it this way than to have to go up and down those rickety stairs in my basement.

You have to go out my front door onto the screened in porch and turn left. It's a little room enclosed on the porch but not climate controlled sadly so storing things in there isn't ok except for board games, and toiletry items.

We have a laundry room in the basement - that's pretty much par for the course in this area. Bedrooms are on the second floor...carrying heavy baskets full of laundry up and down several flights of stairs with a giant pregnant belly...exhausting and not very safe. DH has been doing the laundry for me lately and I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate it.

Now that we're in AZ, ours is outside. Our rental has HE stacked washer/dryer in essentially a little closet just outside the back door. Everything here is single story, so no stairs. Not looking forward to going outside to do laundry when it's 110 degrees, though!

Ours are in our bathroom on the first floow. Our bathroom is abnormally large.

We still have to bring clothes upstairs to put it away but it is much better than having it in the basement, I had that before. Plus, I do like how I can watch tv in the livingroom while I fold laundry.

Our is in a laundry room off the garage on the first floor. I would rather it be upstairs. We are considering putting our old washer and dryer in the basement for diapers but I'm not into the idea of going all the way down there from the 2nd floor to wash diapers.

We just moved into this house the beginning of the month. It was originally a ranch with a very large basement and garage, but the family that bought it sectioned off the basement into a very large family room, basement, and laundry room. The basement is closed off from the laundry room and family room, which is really nice since I can keep the laundry room warm even though the walls and floor are just concrete. It's super clean and I don't have to worry about all the dust, dirt and icky stuff from the basement. The stairs down to the family room and laundry room are carpeted and have a nice railing, so even though I have to go up and down, it's only one flight and not rickety or creepy. We were also very lucky that our previous landlord let us buy the washer and dryer that was in our last place and bring it with us!

In the house we're building we will have a laundry room as well, it's between the garage and the kitchen. If I had a 2 story home, I would definitely want it on the 2nd floor as well!!

We have a little closet type thing in the kitchen and that's where ours are. I wish we had an actual laundry room because there is no space, but that's where the hook ups were when we bought the house. It's on the first floor and our bedroom and the babies room are on the 2nd floor, so that sucks a little but it isn't too bad. Right now I only try to do laundry when my husband is home so that I can make him carry it up and down the stairs for me.

Ours is in the mudroom between the garage and kitchen. I wish it was upstairs. The only change I would make to this house. But, as someone else said, I can watch tv while I fold clothes, so I guess it's not all bad.

In our current house, it's in a "laundry room" just outside the back door to the left. In the new house (which we'll be moving to in less than 3 weeks), there is a laundry room in the hallway next to the second bathroom. Literally right across the hall from DD's room

Ours is in the garage. There is a little raised up area away from all the storage and cars so its not too bad. Also, our garage is just off of our living room which is where I usually fold all our laundry anyway so it makes it easy.
