I really wanted to take my boys camping before the baby comes but with the move and everything else going on we kind of let it slide. Would I be totally crazy to go camping in 2 weeks or so? Anyone else been around 33 weeks pregnant and gone camping successfully (not to uncomfortable)?

What kind of camping? Tent, rv, cabin? Close to facilities?

We tent camp, and I would say that tent camping would be too hard at this point, if that is how you are going to do it. I wouldn't want to walk to the bathroom in the middle of the night or crawl in and out of a tent. If you think you could do it, then go for it though! We were thinking of taking a weekend trip to the beach before baby b/c the kids have been asking.

I was thinking tent and bringing an air mattress. I didn't really think of trying to climb out of the tent in the middle of the night though. That might be a little tricky... There is facilities close by though.

I feel like it depends on your personal mobility right now. I personally would not be able to do it simply because I can't sleep to begin with, let alone trying to sleep on an air mattress in the woods. I've also been getting tons of BH and right now I have a pinched nerve in my leg. So, for me, I'd say no. But if you're feeling pretty good and you think you'd be able to sleep and rest as much as you need to without being terribly uncomfortable - I say go for it!

I personally wouldn't want to camp at this point, but that's just me.

Our friends just asked if we wanted to go camping before the baby came, and we have a small, two person tent and an air matress....we said no. I don't think could get up off the air mattress once I got down on it LOL

We tent camp and I couldn't imagine camping now. Sleeping would be torture with all of the late night trips to squat in the woods, trying to get comfy on an air mattress, and sweating my arse off.

Thanks ladies. Yall brought up some good points I hadnt thought of. Like getting up to pee at night and being hot. Which I don't know how I could have forgotten those. I guess we might have to make it a camping trip to a hotel. That still works right??

I think the hotel is a great idea! That is camping to me. I was going to recommend strongly against an air mattress. We slept on an air mattress our first few nights in our new house before we got our bed moved in and I was MISERABLE and I was only abut 26/27 weeks. My back killed me in the mornings and sleeping was terrible. Every time my husband moved, I woke up and the back pain made it so hard to get back to sleep. It was also hard getting up and down off of the air mattress to go to the bathroom in the night. Camp in the hotel and take them hiking/fishing/picnicking during the day?

I was thinking about going camping, but then I would not want to leave and have a magical nature birth haha.

We may go after baby is here.. We really can not before then, it is still pretty cold here in June for camping.
