When does your ob/midwife begin cervical checks? Will you be getting them or will you refuse until closer to your due date? Something else?

I think my doc will start them at my next appt (almost 35 weeks). I will allow them.

I requested one next appt to make sure everything was still closed up before I go on my weekend trip. I think my dr usually waits longer more like 36 weeks

I'm guessing she'll do one at my next appt, 34w5d, when she does my strep swab, but I'm not sure after that. I'll only have one two-week appt and then start every week, but since she's a new (to me) doctor I'm not sure what she plans.

I don't plan on having any until my due date if she hasn't come, even then I may just wait it out. I don't think they predict too much and cause a lot of worry of course if I was in different circumstances I may feel different. But I ptl with David and was 3cm until he was born. So we will wait it out.

Probably when my two week appts start. My last monthly appt is at 32 weeks. So probably will start at 34 or 36 weeks. And no I won't refuse them.

Honestly, I have no idea. I know that I want to have limited checks while in labor, but the new office hasn't mentioned anything. I'm going to ask at my next appt on the 26th. I don't know that I want any until I'm 37 weeks unless I have signs of something changing. I haven't had any real contractions and I haven't lost any of my mucous plug yet, so I'm not sure if it's worth the discomfort at this point. Being a first timer, I'm really not sure what the best option is for me.

I have been having TONS of BH and cramping and I am high risk for preterm labor so we have been checking almost every appointment since 24ish weeks... It seems all is well for now so I am happy

My midwives don't push them and I don't think I'll get one until 38-39 weeks; even then it'll just be out of curiosity. I don't really think they predict much, either.

I think 36 weeks. Last time when I told her he was breech at our elective ultrasound, she said that when they did my strep B test they would do an exam and see if he had flipped. So I'm assuming they'll be checking my cervix then too, but I don't know for sure.

I haven't had a cervical check since I was in labor with Thomas in 2004. Never had one at all with the last two babies, either during pregnancy or labor. If I get really curious I can feel for myself if I am dilated, but it really doesn't tell anything for certain anyway.

I don't think my Dr does them until the last couple of weeks. I will be declining them until I'm in labor anyway. I hate hate hate cevical checks.

I believe they are going to start them at 34 weeks since I am known to go into labor early and I'm high risk. I had one at my last appointment because I brought up about the week of painful cramping I was having so they checked to see if they had done anything. Thankfully they did not.

My dr doesn't even offer them until 38-39 weeks but she doesnt push for it. I will probably decline for two reasons: 1) they suck. So freaking uncomfortable and I'm uncomfortable enough as it is. 2) they have yet to predict me going into labor based on a cervical check. With DD, I was closed up tight and went into labor the next day. With DS, I was dialated to 3cm for several weeks before I went into labor.

I think 36 weeks with the strep test. I don't put much thought into them. They aren't terribly uncomfortable for me, but I also don't stress over the progress or lack thereof
