So i am working right now and i just met with my manager at the clinic to let her know that we may need to work on finding some coverage for me for the last couple of weeks of this month in case i deliver early or something happens during the version and i need an emergency c section.

She then goes on to tell me that if i need more coverage then it would be up to me to find it, and that she feels like she has "done enough" for me at this point.

I am sooooo freaking pissed off right now.

ARGGGGGGG! What a great boss i tell ya. totally makes me want to leave and not come back at all!

Wow. What an awful thing for your boss to say. Maybe you should spend you time away job shopping? That is my plan.

I would just let her deal with it on her own if it comes up. If she isn't interested in planning ahead, it's not your problem. And she can't fire you for giving birth without having a lawsuit on her hands, so screw it!

It is her job as management to find coverage. You have given her plenty of notice, and you shouldn't have to do more. I can't believe that was her reaction! Is there a way to go above her and request coverage without it backfiring on you?

Ugh I would have been so mad too. When I was preg with DD I worked for DirecTV and my boss fired me for being pregnant and said I would no longer be reliable because of missing work for Dr appointments and such. And then put it down in the paperwork that I had missed too many days even tho I had only missed one day.
I swear some bosses just have no sympathy for pregnant women and other women who haven't had kids seem to be the worst offenders of this. And if your in a state with crap labor laws then unfortunately there often is nothing you can do about it.

Yep this woman is not married and has no children and is completely ignorant about everything that has to do with pregnancy, etc....how she can be the practice manager for an urgent care i have no idea. she has absolutely no clinical knowledge at all. I told her the baby was breech and she said "what's that?" i am so frustrated. it's going to be even worse when i tell her that i had to schedule this weeks dr appointment on a day i have to work because that's all that was available.... i don't know when i am going to tell her that but i figured that today was not the day for that. ugh!!! super frustrated. here i am working up until the day i deliver literally and that is the thanks i get.....

Wow seriously I would just be like OK I am done find someone to cover for me yourself. Should have known your boss was a female cause so was mine. If she isn't OK with you missing work tell her to kiss your butt. Or at the very least go off on her all pregnant lady style.
