Are you washing new things? Like rock and plays, swings, etc? I washed the couple of things we have that are previously used, but wondering about the things we are taking right out the box.

No not if it came out the box unless it has funny smells.

I wash new clothes and anything previously used. But... new stuff, nah... only if it smells funny. I just spray it with some disinfectant.

Phew. This makes me feel better since we got the bassinet and swing set up yesterday and I sure as heck wasn't going to try to get all those pieces unhooked and apart from each other, especially for the swing! Haha. I washed all of baby's clothes, receiving blankets and that sort of thing...but I didn't consider it with the swing and bassinet stuff because it all looks nice and smells good. Glad I'm not the only one.

I washed all my secondhand clothes but didn't think of washing the ones I bought new from store... Think it's necessary?

I washed all of the clothing and bedding, but things like padding from the swing and carseat? Nope. Honestly, I didn't even think about it. I still won't.

If it is easy to do, then I do. For example.. the cover for my swing was packaged separately so I threw it in. I figure it will get any manufacturing residue off

However, if it involves work on my end, as in my carseat cover... forget it. Not worth the hassle. It is just gonna get covered in some bodily fluid on it within a short amount of time anyway
