My 3 hour glucose test is at 8 this morning (though I doubt they'll get around to starting the test before 8:30 or 9). I woke up at 2:30 this morning starving and ate about half a bowl of grapenuts before I remembered I'm supposed to be fasting. Now I can't go back to sleep and I don't know what to do! I can't keep taking off work for this stupid thing, but I don't want to be wrongly diagnosed with GD. What should I do?? Plus, I'm 30 weeks today. It's getting kind of late..
I'd call the lab and tell them what happened and see what they suggest. Sometimes they can give you a modified test, but it's up to the lab's policy and beyond that your doctor (who probably isn't open at 8am)
I think I'm just not going to say anything and see what happens. I refuse to reschedule this. My whole day's shot as is and I only have 10 weeks of pregnancy left. If I have to monitor my blood sugar over the summer, so be it.
The one hour one you are not suppose to fast for. The 3 hour one you ARE suppose to fast. Just go for the test but tell them...I am sure it will be fine but if you tell them and it's close then they know.
You're not really suppose to fasten for that test, cuz then it's kinda like cheating on the test. you can just eat normally as you would every day
This is the 3 hour so she needed to fast for 12 hours, which is pure torture to a pregnant women. I dont think its going to change the results too much hun. Its not like you had a 5 course breakfast. Kup!
