I had a crazy appt today. Apparently, there were 2 Amy's there today, and my doc got us confused. The other one was there for her 36 week appointment, and the doc told my nurse to hook "Amy Martin" up to the fetal monitor. I told her that I wasn't supposed to start that until my next appointment. I heard her go outside and ask the doctor, and he said "Yes, Amy Martin." So she comes back in and hooks me up. I knew it was a mistake, but thought "whatever, let's just do it" lol. After about 10 minutes passed, my doctor came in and looked shocked, turned around to nurse and said, "This is not Amy Martin." I said, "Yes, I am." So he checked his folder and saw that it was supposed to be a different Amy. haha. I said, "I told you!"
Oh, well, at least I know what to expect next week.
My nurse said it measures heartbeat and movement. I was thinking it detected contractions too. Anyone know?
Also, I will have the Group B Strep test next time. He didn't say he would check my cervix, but I was assuming he would. Is that what usually happens??

That's kind of frustrating about the mix up! My midwife asks if I would like my cervix checked after doing the Group B strep test, but I think a lot of offices automatically do it. I usually agree to the check for my own curiosity but know that it really has no bearing on when I might go into labor
My doc hasn't done a cervix check yet. I'll be 37 weeks on Monday. He hasn't mentioned it, even with my blood pressure issues. I thought for sure he'd do a check yesterday, but he didn't. I'm okay with that.
My doc did a cervix check on Wednesday after my strep test. He didn't tell me anything about it though, other than say "Yep, the baby's head is right there isn't it?" And to comment that my pelvic opening was a little narrow.
