I'm so excited to finally have it up! This is a family heirloom that was built by my great grandfather about 20 years ago as one of the last pieces of furniture he ever built (he built furniture for a living for most of his life). My 3 youngest siblings slept in it, Jaleigh and Kiefer slept in it, and now this baby will too! It's larger than a bassinet and smaller than a crib so my babies usually use it for about 4-6 months until they out grow it. Because it is an odd size, the bedding and mattress all had to be made by hand. My grandmother made all of it (just as she has for every single baby in the family that has used it so far).
I should have taken pics for y'all before I wedged it into the corner of my bedroom but hopefully you'll get the idea from these. I'm just feeling so sentimental and giddy over it!
This is the stand the cradle sits on. There is a way to lock it so it doesn't move or you can unlock it so you rock the whole thing.
