I had a Dr apt today and he checked my cervix for the 3rd time. He said it was still closed but about 70% effaced. I left and went about my day. About 2 and a half hours later I went to the bathroom and when I wiped I had quite a bit of pinkish brown gunk on the TP. And then another half an hour or so I went and had a little bit of gunky brown before it stopped completely a few hours later.

Yesterday I believe I lost some of my mucous plug, as I had about a dime sized little glob of white in my panty liner. I called the doc's office today after the blood on the TP and she said it could either be irritated cervix or possibly something got knocked loose during my exam and it may have been the bloody show. I have not spotted at all through this entire pregnancy and haven't been irritated the last 2 weeks of him checking. What would you think if it was you? Just curious.

I would guess mucus plug? I don't normally spot after exams either, so if it were me, I would assume it was part of my mucus plug. Gettin close!!!

It could easily be caused by the exam. And it could be mucus plug. Things are really gearing up now for the big day.

It really could be either. If it were me, I would probably be excited and convince myself the labor was imminent b/c of that and being so effaced. But I also jump to conclusions. You're so close to the end that I wouldn't be surprised if there was a baby in your very near future. Good luck and keep us posted!
