For those that still are able to wear rings, does your dr require you to take them off before/during delivery? I have a thing with my insurance called "Life With Baby" and they were telling me all drs and hospitals now a days require you to take your jewelry especially your rings off during delivery....mainly due to swelling. My fingers only swell when I get really hot other than that I haven't had many issues with swelling.

My doc hasn't said anything about it, but I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings for awhile now, so I haven't even brought it up. That is good information to know, though.

With DD in 2010, I wore mine. No one said a word. I still have them on now, too, and my grandmother's engagement ring. I dare them to try and make me take it off.

I couldnt wear them with David because of swelling anyways but with Katelynn and Everett they stayed on. I dont plan on taking them off this time either.

I'm amazed at how insurance companies can tell us what to do. Last time I checked they are not Drs. ! Ugh!

I couldn't wear mine during my pg with Madison but was able to with Hailey and still have them on now. I do have to take mine off during delivery though since I get c-sections. I've never heard of an insurance company requiring you to take them off though.

When I was in labor with DD, the nurse asked me if I could take out my nose ring (which I couldn't anyway) because it was metal and it would need to be removed in the event of a c-section. She said if I couldn't remove it, they could cut it off but I didn't end up needing a section so it was no biggie. This time, I plan on wearing the necklace SO got me for vday and if a section becomes necessary, I'll just take it off and have him hold it until I can put it back on.

From what I've found, they don't want you wearing jewelry because they use electrocautery and you could end up being burnt where any metal is touching you.
