I've noticed today that my discharge has a light brown color to it now and a strange smell. I never experienced this with DD. Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal? Could it be from my dr doing my group b strep test yesterday?

If it was just the color I'd think maybe your cervix is irritated, but it's the smell that would concern me a little. Maybe a call to the doc in the morning wouldn't hurt.

The smell reminds me of the smell that accompanies my period...

Oooh bet it might be your mucous plug starting to come out. Brown in color typically means old blood. So if something irritated your cervix within the last week it could be from that. But I just read something that said brownish or reddish discharge was usually mucous plug starting to come out. So you may be getting close!

I really hope you're right, Karry. Although with DD, I lost my mucus plug 10 days before she was born.

It's nice to know there's something going on down there. I'm experiencing a lot more discomfort this week than previously also.. There's a decent chance I won't make it to my appt next week (crossing my fingers).
