From about 10 pm to 3-ish I was having fairly painful contractions, but they never got into a regular pattern. I was really uncomfortable, and my back was aching like mad. I told my husband to be ready to go if it kept up, and we both tried to get some sleep while we could. I managed to get a few hours in, but I'm sooooooooo exhausted today. And I'm still really uncomfortable. I'm having contractions here and there that are verging on painful, but not as bad as last night.
Since my midwife isn't planning to do a cervical check unless I go past my due date, I've been trying to keep an eye (so to speak) on things myself. Up until yesterday I could barely find my cervix. It was really posterior - even the midwife had trouble finding it when I had my exam at the beginning of the pregnancy - and really high up. As of this morning, it's RIGHT there. I don't even have to go poking around for it. And I can tell by feeling it that I'm 1-2 cm dilated.
So yeah! All good things that hopefully indicate that Finnegan will make his debut soon! I'll be 39 weeks on Monday, so I'm ready to go at anytime now. My mom is flying in from Arizona next Friday, so I'm kind of hoping to hold off until she gets here, but at the same time I'm pretty tired of being pregnant and anxious to meet my little man!
