I had my 35 week check up on Wednesday. I just hoped I was dilated to 5cm at least since I was at 3cm at hospital. But doctor acted as if I was barely a 1. I was so sick and miserable that day and didn't want to cry in front of him so I didn't ask him why one doctor previous week said 3cm and soft cervix and he was saying cervix is open for a fingertip but still very high and thick.
I know that getting to 37 weeks is ideal. But I have been on some sort of bed rest for 11 weeks now. Baby is measuring about a week and a half ahead on all ultrasounds. I just want this to be over so I can hold my new baby girl and get back to a regular life with my other two girls and husband. I want to not be in constant pain or discomfort from contractions, pressure, back pain, leg cramps.
Thanks for letting me vent. I know we are all almost there.
I broke down and cried a little at my 37 week appointment, also. I have been uncomfortable for a while also--lots of painful contractions and backache but nothing on a pattern. It is very frustrating when you don't feel good. You are just 9 days away from being full term. Hang in there..
Hope you can hang in there. I recall bedrest and it was ugghhhhhhh. Luckily my doc left me go to modified at 32 week and was off bedrest completely at 36. The philosophy was that at 36 weeks the baby is fine to arrive. I took meds until about 37 weeks. Then just a couple of days later I was holding my child Having him at 37 plus 5 gave me a healthy child that I got to take home in 48 hours. He had no one issue. I know this is hard. I hope the next couple of weeks pass quickly for you.
