I know that some is normal - just not sure how much. Had my 36 week where they did a Group B test. She also checked my cervix. Within a little over an hour I filled a pantyliner with blood. Just not sure how much is normal? Was also having BH this morning before the exam. Really having them now.

Whoa! That's too much, I say. A bit of pink and maybe a few drops can be expected but anything approaching a flow would be an immediate doctor call/ER visit for me.

Don't freak out, though! It could still be an irritated cervix or maybe you got knicked by the instrument somewhere. When I was getting checked at the hospital with Alex the nurse who did last had these long nails, which shocked me, and she cut me. Hurt like the dickens.

If it were me, it would definitely be an immediate call to the doc. That's not spotting, that's bleeding. They say some spotting is normal but that's way too much.

I have also bled with the last 2 checks. The first time I had quite a bit also enough to fill the whole liner, but it was light red in color and stopped right away, and I also had cramping along with it. I called the Dr anyway and they told me as long as it stopped and wasn't a bright red flow I was ok....but if I was you I would call too!! Hope all is ok.

I'd call just in case. Your doc didn't strip your membranes by any chance? That could cause more bleeding than a cervical check

Thanks ladies. I talked with the doctor. He said as long as it stops by late tonight it is OK. I am having consistent BH contractions. He said as long as the duration is not more than 60 seconds I am OK. Let's hope this doc is correct. Would have preferred a call from a different doc in the practice.

If you feel at all uncertain or uneasy I would just go to the ER. I'm sure everything would be fine but Mommy Intuition is a powerful force

Thanks ladies. It turned to brown discharge. I worked until 6 just to ensure that my office was in good order in the event Ellianna made an appearance. Good news is that when I got home and completely rested, the contractions stopped. Today appears to be a good day. Plan to do some cleaning. Taking it easy though.

I had a good amount after my group b and cervical check on Wed. It finally completely stopped around mid-day Thursday. Wed I had some bright red spotting for a couple of hours and then brown spotting up until Thursday afternoon but it would come and go by that point. I also had some intense period like cramping. My ob said that was normal.
