I had my last doctor's appointment today! I had a good talk with him about options, and I caved in to the induction. Everything is going to get started tomorrow at 6pm! My cervix was still 60% effaced, and dilated at a very tight 1cm. He said it was still somewhat firm and a little long as well. He also measured baby at 8lbs....so I ultimately decided that he is well done and it's time for him to come out. He did strip my membranes (holy ****, OUCH) so maybe, just maybe I'll go into labor tonight, but I doubt that!
So I feel a little bit guilty but, I am just ready, and I love and trust my doctor 100%. I physically cannot handle being pregnant for another week. With the heartburn and back pains and swollen feet, I've had enough. And I have gained 62lbs and I cannot handle getting any bigger either. So Axel Layne will be here Thursday finally!
You need to do what is best for you and your family. No need to feel guilty. You had a good discussion with your doctor. You said that you trust your doctor. Let yourself feel good in that decision. There is no one right way to deliver a child. Sending you wishes for much health and a quick delivery.
I felt guilty about being induced with my DD too, but given the complete lack of progress, it was the smartest decision for us. Sometimes our bodies just need a little help. It's absolutely nothing to feel guilty about.
