My 38 week appointment was scheduled for around 4, but at noon I called over because I was nauseated and having lots of shortness of breath. Combine that with the fact that the baby hadn't been as active, and I was a little worried. They had me come in right away to get hooked up to the fetal monitor. Well, then a whole list of tests were ordered: blood, urine, EKG, CT scan, and they put me on a heart monitor as well. My doctor's concern was that I had developed a blood clot after some traveling I had to do this weekend.

Well, everything came back fine, baby's heartrate was wonderful, except for the fact that I was slightly dehydrated. So I got hooked up to an IV for fluids, just in time to have to go down to the basement because a tornado was spotted just a few miles south. Fun stuff. So after coming back up and being on fluids for a while longer, I was sent home with orders to drink lots of gatorade and go back in tomorrow morning to recheck my urine.

ANNND, we are still in a tornado warning, with several storms cells on their way in our direction. Way too much excitement for one day, especially when the outcome was no baby still

That's pretty scary! One of my worst fears is going into labor during a tornado watch. I am such a wussy when it comes to weather.

Thanks ladies! Our internet was out all day today because of the weather, but all is well for now. I went back today and my numbers were all closer to where they are supposed to be, but not perfect. I'm on a low-carb high-gatorade diet right now, but baby looks great and I'm feeling much better. I lost 8lbs since last Tuesday, but we figured it was from a combo of losing some of the swelling/water weight and going low-carb.

As for the storms, we've been getting a lot of rain and flooding, but so far we've managed to miss the scary stuff. I've lived here all my life so I'm usually pretty good about not getting too worked up, but the tornadoes that touched down in the last two days have been way too close for comfort.
